This is a popular traditional Hawaiian ahi tuna salad poke bowl with avocado and mango that is fresh and delicious for lunch or dinner. Our Hawaiian ahi tuna poke bowl recipe with avocado and mango is simple to make.

Healthy and fresh, Hawaiian ahi tuna poke salad is served with raw sushi tuna that has been marinated with sesame oil, ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and scallions. The marinated raw tuna is then served over cooked rice, topped with avocado, mango, edamame beans and sesame seeds.

Ingredients For Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl Marinade:

  • 450 grams fresh sushi grade ahi tuna ( cut up into 1/2 inch cubes)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 /1/2 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sambal oelek or sriracha sauce (optional for spicy version)

Ingredients For Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl Toppings: 

  • 1 avocado (cut into cubes)
  • 1 mango (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (black or white)
  • 2 cups rice white or brown (cooked)
  • 1 cup Edamame beans cooked or (canned lima beans)

How To Make Ahi Tuna Poke? 

  1. In a medium size bowl, add the sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, scallions, and cubed ahi tuna and toss together. If you want your tuna poke spicy, add in the sambal oelek or sriracha sauce.
  2. To assemble the salad bowl, add a scoop of rice then top with the marinated tuna followed by the avocado, mango, lima beans and sesame seeds.
  3. Drizzle with some soy sauce or mayonnaise.
  4. Serve and eat immediately.
