- 2 cups whole wheat flour (240g) or wholegrain flour
- 1 1/2 cup buttermilk (360 grams) or milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (2.5 grams)
- 6 teaspoons granulated sugar (30 grams) or sweetener
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder (13 grams)
- 1/2 cup applesauce (125 grams)
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (75 grams) melted or oil
How To Make Healthy Whole Wheat Waffles With Applesauce?
- Preheat the waffle machine.
- In a medium-size bowl, add the whole wheat flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder and whisk together.
- Pour into the dry mixture the melted butter, applesauce, and buttermilk and mix using a whisk until batter is well combined and no flour lumps are visible.
- Spray pan release and fill each well of the waffle machine, close the top, and cook for about 4-5 minutes or until gloden brown.
