  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 egg white from a large egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 cups pecan halves, raw
  • 2 1/2 cups whole almonds, raw

How To Make Candied Pecans and Almonds?

  1. Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C), and line an 11 x 17-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Add the granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon, into a bowl and whisk together to combine. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl combine the egg white and water and whisk until the mixture is frothy. Then add the pecans and almonds and toss into the mixture ensuring the nuts are coated.
  4. Pour in the sugar mixture and mix it all together, the pecans and almonds should be well coated.
  5. Transfer to the baking dish and spread out evenly throughout the tray.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes stirring them halfway or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow the candied pecans and almonds to cool on the tray for 30 minutes.
