How to make Salmon Croquettes?

Salmon croquettes are super easy to make and can be prepared in no time. Follow our easy steps and in no time you’ll be enjoying your croquettes.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cans smoked salmon ( flaked)
  • 11/2 cups panko bread crumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
  • 4 tablespoons scallions or onions (chopped finely)
  • 4 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill (chopped finely)
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili peppers (optional chopped into small pieces)
  • Vegetable, corn or canola oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Add the oil in a medium size frying pan and fill 1/3 high.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of bread crumbs into a plate for coating the croquettes and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl add the smoked salmon, scallions, beaten eggs, 1 cup of breadcrumbs, salt and hot chili peppers and mix all together until well combined.
  4. Using a tablespoon scoop the salmon mixture and shape into an oval. If you prefer you can also shape then round or into a flat patty.
  5. Coat the shaped salmon croquettes into the breadcrumbs and set aside. Repeat until all your croquettes are formed.
  6. Heat the oil over medium heat. when oil is hot then start adding the salmon croquettes and fry each side for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Transfer fried croquettes to a plate lined with paper towels so that it can soak up the oil.
  8. Place your smoked salmon croquettes on a serving plate and enjoy with horseradish, caper sauce, parsley sauce, tartar sauce or your favorite dipping sauce of choice.
