This Lasagna is made using mild Italian sausages, you can use hot sausages if you prefer. You also have the choice to swamp the sausages for different meat of your choice like ground beef or ground turkey or chicken.
Ingredients For No Bake Lasagna:
- 4 teaspoons olive oil
- 450 grams mild Italian sausage casings removed (1 pound)
- 2-3 cups Classic Marinara Sauce
- 12 ounces fresh lasagna cut up into smaller pieces or use farfalle pasta
- 10 ounces shredded mozzarella
- 1 cup ricotta
- 1/4 cup mushrooms
- 1/4 cup grated Romano cheese or Parmesan
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 cup of spinach
Classic Spinach Marinara Sauce Recipe:
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 5 garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 onion chopped thin
- 3 cans 26-ounce diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions How To Make The Classic Spinach Marinara Sauce:
- Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and onions and cook, stirring frequently, until it just turns golden, 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, spinach, Italian seasoning, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for 7-9 minutes. Take off the heat and stir in the butter until melted and set aside.

- Heat the olive oil in a wide semi-deep pot over medium-high heat. You can also use a dutch oven.
- Add the sausage and cook, breaking it up into small pieces with a wooden spoon, until brown, about 6-8 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms, Marinara, and 3 cups water and bring to a boil.
- Add in the fresh lasagna pasta or farfalle pasta and stir.
- Partially cover the pot and cook stirring occasionally until the pasta is cooked and the sauce has thickened about 20 minutes.
- Add in the ricotta cheese and the Romano cheese and stir them in.
- Final step, add the mozzarella over the top and cover until cheese melts about 5 minutes.
