Rabri is a very famous gluten free Pakistani and Indian dessert that is easy and quick to make. This classic quick Rabri recipe is made with cornflour, milk masala, sugar, cardamon and is inspired by the traditional sweet dishes of India and Pakistan. The first time Rabri was introduced to me was on an Indian flight that I took to Belgium where they served it as a dessert.

Sweet, creamy, and gluten-free, I quickly became addicted to Rabri and have made for my family and friends ever since.

Ingredients For Rabri Dessert:

  • 1 litre milk
  • 5 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon saffron strands
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • 2 tablespoon milk masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon cardamom powder
  • roasted almond flakes and pistachio( for garnishing)

How To make Rabri Dessert?

  1. Add full-fat milk in a wide pan.
  2. Add sugar, saffron strands, and cardamom powder.
  3. Let it boil on a medium flame.
  4. Put the creamy layers aside when it boils.
  5. Let it bring to one-third quantity.  
  6. Add cornflour and mix well.
  7. Let it cool down.
  8. Add milk masala powder and stir it.
  9. Pour it into a bowl and add cream.
  10. Stir it lightly and let it chill completely.  
  11. Garnish it with toasted almond and pistachio.
