What is a Scone?

The traditional scone originates from the United Kingdom and is a popular British quick bread that is typically leavened by chemical leavening agent such as baking powder. The scone is slightly sweetened and has a very dense crumbly texture that’s due to it’s short mixing process and high quantity of fat.

What is the difference between American Scone and British Scone?

American scones are a lot sweeter than the classic British scone and come in many different shapes and variations. From savory to sweet and packed with inclusions, the Americans scone is truly unique on its own.

What is Spelt Flour?

Spelt is a unique ancient grain that dates back to 5000 BC. It’s distinctive nutty and somewhat sweet flavor makes it a popular substitute in recipes that call for wheat flour. Recipes made with Spelt flour have an excellent source of protein, minerals, vitamins and dietary fiber compared to regular wheat flour. This special ancient grain loves water and is more soluble compared to wheat, aiding and promoting better digestibility.
