What Is Dalgona Coffee?

Dalgona coffee is a delicious whipped iced cold drink also referred to as fluffy coffee, whipped coffee, or frothy coffee. Whipped coffee has been around for decades in Europe, China and Indian but recently became popular and started trending on the internet beginning of February of 2020, thanks to famous South Korean actor who discovered it in Macao and named it Dalgona. In March of 2020, this hot beverage, or should we cool frothy beverage was trending all over the internet as the number drink.

Ingredients For Dalgona Coffee:

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 2 tablespoons hot water ( boiling water)
  • 1.2 cup ice for serving
  • 3/4 cup milk Milk for serving (180 ml)

Instructions For Dalgona Coffee:

  1. Add some water to a pot and boil on the medium-high setting of your stove. You can also boil the water in the microwave.
  2. Add the 1-1 ratio of instant coffee, sugar, and hot water into a small bowl and whisk vigorously for about 2-3 minutes until the coffee mixture is fluffy, foamy, and thick.
  3. Add ice and milk into a cup then add spoonfuls of the Dalgona whipped coffee onto the top.
  4. Drizzle with some honey, chocolate syrup, or maple, then lightly dust some cacao, coffee, or cinnamon onto the top.
  5. Enjoy your freshly homemade Dalgona.
