Crumpet Batter-Disslove the insant yeast with 1 talspoon of warm water and set aside for 3 minutes.
in In a medium-size bowl, add the flour, yeast mixture, salt, sugar, baking powder, and water and mix vigorously for abiut 4-5 minutes using a whisk.
Add Flour, Water and Salt to a mixing bowl.
Mix vigorously with a whisk for at least five minutes to create your crumpet batter.
Cover the bowl with plastic and let the crumpet batter rise for 20 minutes.
Griddling-Preheat griddle to medium heat setting about 300F (150C).
Spray the griddle and the round, square, egg or English muffin or crumpet rings and place onto hot griddle. If you don’t have a griddle you can use a skillet.
Place a greased metal biscuit cutter (any shape cutter you have to hand will also do the trick) into the middle of a non-stick frying pan.
Pour or ladle about 1/2 cup (50 grams) of crumpet batter into each ring.
Cook for 5 minutes then carefully transfer the cooked crumpet to the side plate. If the top is still wet, flip it and cook for 2 minutes.
Repeat until all the batter is used up.
