Ingredients

Caramel:

  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 1 cup Sugar

Flan:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 can Evaporated Milk 12oz
  • 1 can Condensed Milk 14oz
  • 1 scoop Whey Protein Isolate Vanilla
  • Salt Pinch

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Put a small pot of water to boil and keep it simmering until ready to use.

Caramel:

  • Add the star and water into a medium-size and cook on medium heat until sugar starts to carmelize and turn into light brown color about 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove caramel from the stove and carefully pour a little amount into ramekins or flanera cups just to fill the bottom.

Flan:

  • Add the evaporated milk, condensed milk, salt, and whey protein into a blender and mix until mixtures are well combined about 1 minute.
  • Add the eggs and mix for about 20 seconds.
  • Fill each custard cup just below the rim with the flan mixture.
  • Place the cups into a large square or rectangular deep tray and place it into the oven.
  • Fill the deep dish with the hot water about halfway mark of the flan cups.
  • Cook for about 1 hour or until the sides are firm. Stick a toothpick into the center, if it comes out clean then the flan is cooked.
  • Remove the oven and set the flan cups onto a wired rack to cook for about 30 minutes.
  • Once cooled place them into the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  • Remove the protein flan from the fridge and invert them onto serving plates. If you notice they are stuck to the cups, run a knife along the sides.
  • Enjoy and leave us a comment.
