The Best Tahini Recipe (Blender & Food Processer)

Tahini is a staple in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean households, it’s vegan and gluten free and has a nutty flavor and taste that comes from the sesame seeds. It's used to make classics like Hummus, it can also be added to make salad dressing.

Ingredients
  

  • 300 grams hulled sesame seeds 2cups
  • 60 grams Olive oil 4 tablespoons

Instructions
 

  • Add the sesame seeds into a skillet or wide pot and toast on medium heat for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool on the side.
  • Transfer the sesame seeds into a food blender (you can also a food processor) and pulse a few times for 15 seconds scraping the sides and bottom of the blender until the sesame seeds develops a crumbly texture.
  • Add the oil and process on high for about 4-5 minutes or until the tahini texture is smooth, creamy and pourable.
  • Pour the tahini into a mason jar, cover and refrigerate.

  • HOW TO STORE HOMEMADE TAHINI?
  • The tahini can be store up to 30 days in the refrigerator. Make sure to keep it cover, if you notice some separation just stir with a spoon or give the jar a shake.
