This popular yellow sauce known as joppie sauce and joppiesaus is typically served cold alongside Frites (french fries), hotdogs, and hamburgers but can also pair nicely with sandwiches, pasta, and salads.

INGREDIENTS FOR JOPPIE SAUCE WITH OIL

  • 3/4 cup of canola or vegeatble oil
  • 1 small pickle chopped into small pieces
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1 1/2 mustard
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon curry
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 teaspoon vinegar
  • 3 teaspoons ketchup

INGREDIENTS FOR JOPPIE SAUSE WITH MAYONAISSE

  • 1 cup mayonnaise mayo
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 teaspoons curry powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons mustard
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon tomato paste or ketchup

INGREDIENTS FOR VEGAN JOPPIESAUS

  • 1 cup vegan mayo
  • 1/2 cup onions minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon mustard
  • 3 teaspoons ketchup
  • 1/4 cup ketchup

Instructions
 

HOW TO MAKE VEGAN JOPPIESAUS?

  • In a bowl add the minced onions, mayo, mustard, vinegar, ketchup, curry powder, salt and whisk together until mixture is well combined.
  • Place into jar or container and refrigerate.

HOW TO MAKE JOPPI SAUCE WITH OIL?

  • Puree or mince the chopped onion and pickles.
  • Place into a bowl and add the mustard, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, and curry combine together.
  • Using a hand mixer on medium high speed, slow pour in the oil and beat until mixture thickens.
  • Transfer into a container or jar and refrigerate.

HOW TO MAKE JOPPIE SAUCE WITH MAYONAISSE?

  • In a bowl add the the mayonaisse, onion powder, sugar, vinegar, tomato paste, curry powder and mustard and mix together until well combined and smooth.
  • Place into glass jar or container, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
