Ingredients
  

SEMOLINA HALVA

  • 1 cup of semolina
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup of pine nuts walnuts or peanuts (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

HALVA GLAZE

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water

Topping

  • 1/3 cup pistachio, walnuts or almonds bits

Instructions
 

  • Place the butter in a non stick pot and turn on the stove to medium low heat.
  • After the butter is melted, add the semolina flour and pine nuts into the pot and cook for approxiately 15 minutes stirring occassionally to prevent the mixture from burning at the bottom.
  • Lower the heat to low and add the sugar and stir until well combined.
  • When you notice the color of the semolina begining to brown brown, add milk and water and stir.
  • Continue Stirring over low heat until the syrup is absorbed then remove from the heat.
  • You can shape your halva using a small bowl or form or serve as is on a plate.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of pistachio. walnut or almonds.
