Our apple crisp crumble coffee cake recipe is straightforward and easy to make and taste so good! Topped with a streusel, this crisp apple cake is also known as German apple streusel cake.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 gala apples sliced thin
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice optional

Instructions
 

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar or brown sugar
  • 2 cups rolled oats, we use Quaker, can also use Instant Oats
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 5 tablespoon butter (chilled and cubed) for vegan use almond/ coconut or cashew butter
  • HOW TO MAKE APPLE CRISP CRUMBLE COFFEE CAKE?
  • Preheat oven to 330 degrees and line an 8X8 inch baking pan with parchment paper covering the sides to the top.
  • In a medium-size bowl, add the sliced apples, cinnamon, allspice, sugar, and flour and toss together until the apples are evenly coated. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla and mix together.
  • Add in the butter and rubbed into the dry mixture with your hand or pastry cutter until streusel crumble consistency.
  • Add half the streusel mixture into the bottom of the baking pan and spread evenly pressing downward to cover the pan.
  • Evenly spread the apple mixture on top of the bottom streusel’
  • Sprinkle evenly the rest of the oat mixture on top of the apples.
  • Bake at 330 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until the apples are soft and the streusel topping is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.
